The flagship Subhadra Yojana initiative, spearheaded by the Government of Odisha, has transformed direct financial support systems for women across rural and urban households. Designed to foster women’s entrepreneurship, health security, and household economic autonomy, the scheme disburses ₹10,000 annually to each eligible beneficiary through two equal installments of ₹5,000 on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day.

Over 1 crore women between the ages of 21 and 60 across all 30 districts of Odisha are expected to be covered under this generational welfare mission.

  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Odisha holding a valid Odisha Aadhaar card.
  • Bank Account Seeding: The beneficiary’s bank account must be single-holder (not joint), Aadhaar-linked, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) enabled via NPCI mapper.
  • Exclusions: Regular government employees, income tax payees, and recipients of existing state pension benefits exceeding ₹1,500 monthly are excluded to prioritize low-income and vulnerable households.
